Copyright Policy

Last updated: October 31, 2026

We respect creators' rights and respond to notices of claimed infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Most of what people share on DummyShot is an abstract picture made on their phone, but if you think something infringes your copyright, tell us and we'll look at it quickly.

Quickest way: report it in the app

Open the spot, tap Report and choose "It's my photo / copyright". Reported spots are reviewed, and hidden while we check if several people report them.

Formal DMCA notice

Send a written notice to our designated agent with:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The work you believe is infringed.
  3. The material you want removed and where it is (for example the spot's name and location, or a screenshot or link).
  4. Your name, address, phone number and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

Designated agent: Copyright Agent, DummyLab LLC · copyright@dummylab.app

Knowingly false claims can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

What happens next

We remove or disable the material promptly, and tell the person who shared it. Because shares are anonymous, we can only reach them through the app.

Counter-notice

If your spot was removed and you believe it was a mistake, send our agent a counter-notice with your signature, the material and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or Clark County, Nevada, if you're outside the US) and to accept service from the person who made the original notice. We may restore the material after 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant tells us they've filed a lawsuit.

Repeat infringers

We stop accepting spots from installations that repeatedly share infringing material.
