Terms of Use

Last updated: October 31, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and DummyLab LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("we", "us"), about the DummyShot app and dummyshot.com (together, "DummyShot"). By using DummyShot you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Please read section 11. It says disputes are settled by individual arbitration, not in court, and that you give up class actions.

1. Who can use DummyShot

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. DummyShot is not directed at children under 13.

2. Your photos stay yours

DummyShot processes your photos on your device. We don't receive, store or claim any rights in your photos. You're responsible for backing them up; we can't recover photos that are lost, deleted or damaged.

3. Subscriptions and payments

4. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use DummyShot on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where they conflict, these terms apply, except for anything Apple's terms say can't be changed.

5. Shared photo spots

If you share a spot, the Spot Sharing Terms also apply. In short: only pictures made on your phone (an abstract illustration and a line drawing in which nobody can be recognised) and a few details are sent; you promise you took the photo and that sharing it doesn't break any law or anyone's rights; you give us a licence to show the spot; and you can delete what you shared at any time.

Spots, tips and directions come from other people. We check spots and remove ones that break our rules, but we don't check every detail and we don't guarantee they're accurate, legal to visit, open, or safe.

6. Stay safe and follow the rules

No photo is worth getting hurt. When you use DummyShot, and especially when you walk to a photo spot:

You are responsible for where you go and what you do there.

7. Things you must not do

We may remove content and stop accepting spots from an installation that breaks these rules.

8. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on DummyShot infringes your copyright, follow our Copyright Policy. We remove infringing material and stop accepting spots from repeat infringers.

9. Our rights

DummyShot, its design, code, illustrations, characters and the names "DummyShot" and "DummyLab" belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights in them except the licence in section 4.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

DummyShot is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that DummyShot will be uninterrupted or error-free, that tips, sun and weather times, directions or spots are accurate, or that it will produce any particular photo.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost photos, data, profits or opportunities, or for any injury or damage arising from visiting a place or following a tip. Our total liability for any claim about DummyShot is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for DummyShot in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

You agree to indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from content you share or from your breaking these terms or the law.

11. Disputes: arbitration and no class actions

Most problems can be fixed quickly. Before starting any claim, email hello@dummylab.app with a description of the problem, and give us 60 days to try to resolve it.

If we can't, you and we agree that any dispute about DummyShot or these terms will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. Arbitration may take place by video or in Clark County, Nevada. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

You and we each give up the right to a jury trial and to bring or join any class, collective or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine claims of different people.

You can opt out of this section by emailing hello@dummylab.app within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms. If this section is found unenforceable, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Clark County, Nevada.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

13. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the app or on this page before it applies. Continuing to use DummyShot after that means you accept the new terms. You can stop using DummyShot at any time; we may suspend or end access if you break these terms. Sections 9 to 12 survive.

14. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for DummyShot or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance, and is not responsible for any claims about it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If DummyShot fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you're not in a country under a US embargo and not on a US list of prohibited parties.
